Working Group on LNG Fuelled Vessels
The adoption of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) as a marine fuel is, without doubt, becoming a reality.
The International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) believes that the safe use of LNG as a marine fuel contributes to reduce the impact of ports and shipping industry on air quality.
IAPH supports bunkering of LNG in its member ports. This website provides information on LNG and IAPH tools to facilitate smooth and safe LNG bunker operations:
- Bunker checklists, including guidelines on safe procedures for LNG bunkering operations
- Audit Tool for evaluation of a bunker operator’s system safety (will be published on this website in Autumn 2018)
The Working Group on LNG Fuelled Vessels, first established under IAPH’ World Ports Climate Initiative in 2014, continued its work within the recently launched World Ports Sustainability Program.
