Ulsan Port Authority – Customized Maritime and Port Content for Information Vulnerable Groups

Breaking New Ground: In a maritime world where visually impaired communities face complete information exclusion, Ulsan Port Authority pioneers the first-ever accessible port content initiative in Korea.

In partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Korean Association of Libraries for the Blind, Ulsan Representative Library, Ulsan Metropolitan City and the Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired and using meticulously crafted braille publications and employee-narrated audio guides, we’ve filled a critical void, reaching 77 welfare institutions nationwide. This inclusion-focused project bridges the information gap and exemplifies our commitment to sustainable, community-centered port development that leaves no one behind.

We have established a sustainable cooperation framework among national ministries, local governments and port authorities to enhance public convenience and successfully tested a model case for future projects in this area.
