Sabah Ports – Aiding schools as part of CSR program

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Sabah Ports Sdn. Bhd. (SPSB) engage with schools in the vicinity of the port, helping to improve students’ English language skills as well as raising awareness on health and safety matters. In 2016, S.K. Pulau Sepanggar school received 24 life jackets for the school students, a first aid kit and safety signages. By donating these items, SPSB hopes to enhance the safety of the young students who are mostly required to travel by boat to attend their classes.

Further to that, during the visit to the school in early 2017, the SPSB personnel noticed the advanced deterioration of the school’s resource centre. As a result, SPSB has decided to commission the necessary renovation works. Refurbishment works took place and were completed in a period of six months. In addition to repairing damaged floors and walls, SPSB fitted the resource centre with new book racks, cabinets, tables and chair. The new resource centre was launched on 1st February 2018 benefitting the 247 pupils of S.K Pulau Sepanggar.
