During the last weeks, several port authorities reported that they are providing or considering various support measures to assist port users during the pandemic. The measures include reductions of port fees for essential ferry services between neighbouring countries, suspension of berthing dues for laid-up ships, suspension of demurrage fees, deferral of rental and lease payments and concession fees, advancement of accounting and bill payment procedures to shorten the payment period to suppliers and adjustment of port charges in order to generate more cargo throughput. Among the port authorities reporting such relief measures are the Ports of Stockholm, Riga Freeport Authority, BremenPorts, HAROPA, Port of Bilbao, Valenciaport and Nigerian Ports Authority.
