The IAPH LNG working group finalized last month an audit tool that can be used by port authorities to evaluate the safety management of LNG bunkering companies applying for a license to operate in their port. The working group has drawn inspiration from international regulations and industry best practices to develop the tool, that was reviewed through industry consultation. The ports that are part of the working group will now start using the tool and exchange experiences and insights through a continued close cooperation. The audit tool builds on a series of checklists for various modes of LNG bunkering that the IAPH working group issued in 2014. These have since been recognized as a standard by various organizations from all over the world. New ports are welcome to join the IAPH working group, share their insights and be part of the developments.
