IAPH collaborates with APEC to offer course on International Port Strategy

Course also counts on collaboration with the University of Antwerp’s Centre for Maritime and Air Transport Management and Antwerp Management School

The International Association of Ports & Harbors (IAPH) is pleased to be contributing again to the Antwerp and Flanders Port Training Center (APEC) online course for port professionals on International Port Strategy, with the participation of a diverse mix of experienced senior port experts, academics and global policy makers providing their insights on the international aspects of port strategy and management.

The course will cover major global macro-economic and geopolitical trends and analyse their impact on ports, from the perspective of the changes happening to global supply chains, to digitisation, climate change and the energy transition. Furthermore, regional differences and realities in the port sector in China, India, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe will be analysed as well as the evaluation of different international strategies seen within the port industry, and how to apply some of these to individual ports.

Designed for port, shipping line, logistics and consultancy professionals, the various modules on offer will cover :

  • Global macro-economic and geopolitical shifts
  • Reflections on climate change, energy transition & sustainability
  • Changes in the global supply chain
  • Perspective of the various actors in the supply chain
  • Regional evolutions in port development
  • International port strategies

The course will commence on 31 January and will be fully interactive and online.
