Different names are used at ports and terminals to characterize cargo handling equipment. Information on this page provides naming standardization for the purpose of this database.

Container Handler
Flexible front or sideĀ loader. Can reach up to multiple stacks of containers.
Also known as : Empty stacker, Reach Stacker, Side loader, Side Handler, Side Pick, Stacker

Rail-mounted Gantry Crane
Fixed to track rails, usually powered by electricity from the grid

A semi-tractor intended to move semi trailers within a cargo yard, warehouse facility or intermodal facility. Sometimes referenced by make and model (e.g. Ottawa, MAFI..)
